In Association with Amazon.com

B'nai Jacob is an Amazon.com "associate." This is a beneficial relationship for the members of the congregation, the synagogue, and Amazon.com. Under the terms of our agreement, Congregation B'nai Jacob receives a percentage of the price of all items sold from Amazon.com via the link on our site's homepage.

How does this work?

When you click on the Amazon.com icon here or on the homepage, you are taken to the Amazon.com website. If you look closely, you will see that a special code is included in the link that indicates you came from the B'nai Jacob website.

When you make a purchase from Amazon.com, a percentage of the total is set aside for B'nai Jacob. The earnings are sent to the synagogue on a quarterly basis.

How much can we earn?

(Quoted from the Amazon site)
What items qualify for fees and how are the fees calculated?

Associates earn referral fees when a visitor follows a link from the Associate site to Amazon.com and makes a purchase. The link can be to an individual title, a search results page, or to the Amazon.com Home Page. We also have a search box that may be placed on an Associate site. Please note that referral fees are calculated from the sale price, not the list price for each qualifying item.

If a customer links to Amazon.com via an individual book title link and purchases a copy of that book, then, depending on the price, we pay a 15% referral fee based on the sale price. The 15% referral fee is for books that are purchased through a direct title link and sold at 10%-30% off the list price. If the customer continues to browse during that same shopping session and proceeds to purchase additional items during that session, then the referral fee for those additional qualifying items is 5% of the sale price. Music CDs, DVDs, videos, and gifts earn a referral fee of 5%. Referral fees for products other than books, music, videos and DVDs are limited to a maximum of 10 dollars per item.

Please note that we do not pay referral fees for gift certificates, out-of-print items, Auctions items and products sold by third parties (for example, drugstore.com and z-shops merchants).
